I thought Conor will win this fight. But maybe it's not a bad thing to lose after all, he can learn from his mistakes and be much stronger than before.

DeleteGot to love all the idiotic blabbermouths on here, with all the fangirl, mcmotherfucker stuff, it's just like a WWE audience :) Forgetting about the pre fight antics, showboating, leprechaun vs monkey face for a second, what did we see here? Compared with previous fights, McGregor looked sluggish to me, I didn't see the same speed and reflexes which kept him out of reach before and that is why he got tagged. He was fucked after that shot in R2, before Diaz even put the choke on, and he knew it, which I guess is why he tapped so soon. He probably stood more chance if he'd come in at 155. If he can't move up without losing his speed and reflexes he might as well stay at 145-155; if he can, hopefully we'll see a rematch. Whatever happens it looks like the loss has at least made him get serious again.

His "speed" and "reflexes"? You are so far up his arse you think him the Flash and The Invisible Man at once. He was beaten naturally. EVERYONE, WIN OR LOSE, LEARN FROM THEIR BOUTS.

ReplyDeletePeople still don't get it. 170 pounds is way too much for McGregor. I knew before anyone that he looked off right from the get go. During the introductions, he looked fat and stocky to me. I had a feeling he'd be much slower and sluggish and he was. He was flat footed, he just charged in with bombs, and he got tired in the 1st round. The only reason why he looked like he was winning was because he's such a talented striker. But even I knew he was in big trouble after the first 30 seconds. I knew that Diaz could push this pace for 5 rounds but Conor would run out of gas after 1-2 rounds. He was 170 is too big for him. He may still be able to beat some fighters at 170, but it's too big for him. He should be fighting at 155.
