  1. It doesn't matter if he was covering up. The keyword is 'intelligently' defending yourself, in which he was not doing. It was clear Chad wanted the fight stopped. He curled into a ball and put his hands over his head and after the fight was stopped and he stood up he didn't look surprised and/or upset at all.

  2. Chad make a big mistake that cost him the fight...in front Conor was more intilligent & he knew how to get the win

  3. Conor is lucky he had the chance to stand up. Chad was putting a hurting on him.

    1. BOTH GREAT FIGHTERS. TOUGH BATTLE. IMO Chad just did not had the energy to last. That was the breaking point.

  4. "McGregor was tough as nails. Inhumanly tough. Normal people don't just walk through Chad Mendes' hardest shots. Normal people don't spend a round on their backs being beaten up and then, when given the opportunity to stand, rush the opponent as if everything is going according to plan. Normal people don't have the absurd force of will necessary to do something like that" (Luke Thomas)

  6. With a full camp....I think Chad could take him - despite that huge reach disadvantage. Chad looked out of shape.....

    1. Really? Is that what you think? Go back and re-watch the fight. Look closely at Mendes' face during the 1st round when he was clearly being HURT by those body shots. I can tell from your comment that you're not a fighter. You obviously don't know what body shots do. It does not matter what kind of "shape" you're in - body shots kill. They immobilize. Mendes died that night. He's dead. RIP.

  7. Looked like a fix tbh. McGregor got raped for two rounds then suddenly lands a few glancing shots and it's over...

  9. Excellent fight for McGregor period. Yeah Chad is a monster but it doesn't matter who should have done what, Chad did his thing and conor did his. Obviously McGregor is the better fighter here.

  11. Mendes wasn't finishing that fight... Even if Mendes had held him down till the end of the round, the fight starts on the feet in the 3rd and McGregor would have been golden... He was stuffing Chad's takedowns at that point.

  12. I don't get how people say conor was being dominated he was on his back for 1:30 of the first round and the rest of the time was lighting up Mendes on the feet. Chad wouldn't have lasted 5 rounds even if it went to the third he was WAY too tired. And on a full camp I can say that all it takes is one clean left from McGregor and he has 25 mins to find that shot

  15. mendes killed McGregor on the ground, but couldn't do enough to finish him in a grapple like that. a couple of proper, standing full force punches from McGregor and it shifts the whole match.
